The People in Charge
Stanzin Dorjey
Founder
Born and raised in Leh Ladakh, Stanzin Dorjey founded Himalayan Shepherd in 2010. He was working in leading travel agent in Delhi for 8 years, when he realised that there was a market for a company that showed travellers the insider track and hidden gems that only locals know. He moved back to his native Ladakh to put his plan into action.
Stanzin Dorjey (Dorjey junior)
Dorjey grew up hiking, trekking, camping, rafting and exploring. A keen Mountaineering, raft guide and safety kayaker with over 15 years of experience and has paddled all major rivers in the Himalayan. He has trekked Siachen glacier many a times.
Padma Chonjor (PAMA).
Pama oversees Himalayan Shepherd’s operations and ensures guest return happy and hungry for more. He is proud and excited to introduce Ladakh to visitors from around the world. Consider him as local friend and he will show you how wonderful our Ladakh and people can be.
Tsering Dolkar (Dollu)
My name is Dolkar, together with my husband Stanzin Dorjey. I have been on the board of Himalayan Shepherd since 2017. I am responsible for the maintenance of the financial records and accounts of the business.
